Initial CCW Certification Course
August 16 @ 12:00 pm – August 17 @ 7:00 pm
This course has everything you’ll need to prepare to legally carry concealed in Colorado. We’ll talk about all of it, from the application process to the state and federal laws, to choosing a holster, marksmanship fundamentals, how to draw, how to de-escalate and avoid confrontation, and what to do if you find yourself in a situation where you have to defend yourself or your family. We discuss firearms and ammunition storage, how to conceal, and how to continuously improve your skills, so they don’t perish over time.
This course is more of an intermediate-level pistol class, and assumes you have taken some training on the fundamentals and can handle a pistol safely.
We’ll start in the classroom on Sunday afternoon, and cover all the academic stuff. There will be some dry-fire practice and other exercises. We’ll take the written exam and get a good night’s rest. We’ll meet for the live-fire exercise at the range on Monday afternoon, and demonstrate the skills we practiced on Sunday.
Colorado requires at least 8-hours of instruction, demonstration of safety and competence with a pistol, and a passing score on a written exam and live-fire exercise. Upon completing the course, we’ll provide a certificate of completion that you can use to redeem a CCW Permit at your local Sheriff’s Office!
