Pistol Courses

Basic Pistol
Our Basic Pistol course is perfect for beginners. This hands-on training will cover essential firearm safety, handling techniques, and marksmanship fundamentals. It's an ideal Handgun 101 for new shooters, and a great way to shake the dust off if it's just been a while. We recommend this course for most new students to Praesidio, because safety is paramount.

CCW Courses
Our CCW course prepares you for responsible concealed carry. Learn the laws, safety precautions, and practical skills necessary for everyday protection. Our initial CCW course exceeds the state mandated 8-hour duration, with a heavy emphasis on range practice. We also offer a refresher class for CCW renewals, which will also involve a healthy amount of trigger time, or a "Quick & Dirty" version of the refresher that checks all the boxes necessary for renewal, in just a few hours.

Advanced Pistol
In our Advanced Pistol course, experienced instructors guide you through moving and shooting, quick acquisition targeting, and tactical drills to elevate your shooting ability and confidence. This course requires a Praesidio Tactical instructor referral to enroll.
Rifle Courses

Basic Rifle
If you are getting your rifle legs under you, looking to learn more about safety with a long gun, or just rifle-curious, this is a great place to start. We offer both the NRA Basic Rifle Course and our own custom Beginner Rifle courses geared to focus on different skills applications including sport, home defense, and competition.

Advanced Rifle
Looking for something higher speed and lower drag? Our advanced rifle courses include more tactical applications including moving and shooting, room clearing, shooting from behind cover, transition to pistol, and flash sight picture target acquisition. We explore different methods for zeroing sights, different optic types,

"Specified Semiautomatic Firearms" Safety
Effective August 1, 2026 SB25-003 requires a safety course meeting a minimum set of requirements in order to purchase or transfer gas-operated semiautomatic rifles and pistols on the SSF list. Praesidio Tactical will offer the course designed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) for eligibility to obtain a firearms course card, to grant you the right to purchase the listed items. Many common rifle platforms, including the AR15 will require this card, which can only be obtained through a certified safety course.
